Did you ever think that it was only the stores questioned that had a short inventory supply. It's easy to embrace as gospel stories that support what we want to hear. If the same story said they were glutted with Compaq would you be so quick to believe it? I still say something is wrong here. The price reflects the information that we don't have yet. Let us wait and see what the real truth is before we ask for someones head. Opinions vary and information can be perceived differently. That doesn't necessarily mean people are acting in bad faith. After all if everyone looked at things the same who would ever sell you their Compaq in the first place?. Also the key words were CERTAIN MODELS. Maybe manipulation by Compaq to offset the channel stuffing story??

short supply isnt the word ed I live in the chicago area. sat night i went to circuit city,best buy,wards,and sears, just to take a little lookski talking about packed people were out buying computers.except for cpq why? becuse the shelves were bare of most models.i talked to sales reps of all the stores i visited and it was the same old story cant get them.but those packerd bells and hp were still in stock and selling.but like one sales person told me cpq is the #1 reqested computer in there store hands down.I THEN SAID TO MYSELF IT MUST BE TRUE ,THEY MUST BE ALL JAMED UP IN THAT THERE CHANNEL?THEN I SAID TO MYSELF JUST MABE THEY ARE SELLING FASTER THAN THEY CAN GET THEM!BUT THEN I CAME TO MY SENCES AND SAID SB COULD NOT BE WRONG...HA gordo------------
