Excellent idea for a thread, Chip. Thanks. But what do you think about asking thread contributors to not post the solution, so as to let other thread participants solve the puzzles and crack the teasers online ? Here's my rationale. It seems to me that while a straight-forward compilation of "the best of the best" would be fun to follow, the resulting thread would not differ much from any of a myriad such books we can all find at the local book store. What I'm proposing instead is to take full advantage of the interactive nature of the technology we are using by fostering online discussion of possible and/or alternative solutions, by encouraging world-wide collaborative attempts to crack the more difficult teasers that are bound to be posted, and by offering the already big egos on SI an opportunity to stroke themselves on other than stock-related issues when they post a solution or a teaser that nobody else can solve (TIC). What do you think ?...
