Thanks for your time and wisdom. I believe you are correct about the good Dr. He is a scientist first and foremost; to expect a Jack Welch is going too far too fast. IMO Novell is benefitting from Schmidt's focus and technical vision. Hopefully, the execution will succeed beyond our wildest expectations.

Good Investing!

Terry

Seren: Nice "verbose" post. One qualification, once and for all.......

I did NOT repeat NOT "lose" money on Novell. Normally, I don't publish my P&L sheet on a public BBS <g>, however, just to level set "one mo' time".

In brief:

12/95 - 11/97

13,000 shares at one point in time (averaged all over the freaking place).

August of 1997 - 10,000 (not all at one time) but NET NET was a "WASH"
tax loss .... so NET NET = ZERO!

November 1997, cost basis 8.556, sold remaining 3000 shares for a slight profit at 9 3/8.

BOTTOM LINE: 2 freaking years of lost opportunities, and a very small profit.

THAT WAS MY LOSS - "opportunities" (amongst a lot of interactivity with "snakes" in the palace --- on a "personal" basis who I found to be well... you figure it out...).

I hope this short, to-the-point answer clears up "your recap" of "my existance" on this BBS. I am flattered by all of this attention <g>.

And again, I WILL SAY CONGRATS TO ALL THE LONGS. I HOPE YOU MAKE SOME MONEY OFF THE SNAKES!

Clear now?

Oh yeah. One more thing. I WILL buy back in @ 6.50 or better (lower) and ride it for an eventual take-out.

Please preserve this post, as I don't feel like writing it again. You can cross-check everything I've said here for veracity, if you review the last oh, 8 or 9000 posts.

Regards....
