The "Real Reason" i use point & figure(P&F) it's easy for an uneducated TA guy like me...I use the rule KISS..."keep it simple stupid" just because<G>...

In fact LS this form of TA has been around a lot longer than conventional TA..most brokerage houses actually use P&F, and get updates and lessons from Dorsey annually...

If you take a moment and go the www.dorseywright.com site and rumage around it will tell you better than i could...also I'm posting on the P&F Madness thread...we can and do talk directly with TOM DORSEY thru his advocate JAN, she's P&F Madness...pop over and ask her some questions about stocks your looking at strickly for comformation...

Obviously you know your stuff, but it might be fun to see the other side of this equation...I like this form of TA and have been successful in its use..LS its like looking at a pretty picture of XXXX's & OOO's...the x's are when the stock goes UP, and the O's are for when he stock goes down...It formulates a landscape look of the movement of each stock...it shows support and resistance lines in each picture...

The explaination is on the DW site...They do this not only for stocks but they incl. options and the markets and ALL the sectors and
indexes...very informative info..I really like their sector Bullish Percents Numbers...showing either overbought or oversold...its like WR% or Stch. or MACD etc...

Anyway Jan is one hellova technician, and she's from Calif...a surfer girl<g>..she'll answer any and ALL questions for anyone at anytime..

This TA is for both long term and short term trading...i'll get deeper into this as we go along with my analysis of stock selections..

They just did an overview of the market crash of Oct 97...i'll post the link here later for everyone to read..

Take Care, My Regards, Jerry

I've compiled the "Anatomy of a Market Correction"
A five part post that shows what the indicators did before the market correction in
