To be honest, Glenn, even back in the days when I had a 386 that was completely outclassed in graphics, sound, and speed by the MAC models of the time, I still preferred the PC. At school, MACs were most prevalent, and I was forced to use them for all my work.

But I was always glad to be able to come home to my familiar PC. I just never like the look and feel of the MAC. It may have had something to do with the OS, since that was about the time Windows was making an entrance. From the tiny keyboard, to the one-button mouse, to the dinky sounds, to the point-click-your-way-everywhere system (that I still don't like - keyboard type person), etc...I just really didn't like it. What's ironic is that I used nothing but Apple IIs before the MAC, but the MAC's arrival made me migrate to the PC.

I love the versatility of the PC...how I can customize it to my own preferences -- be that hardware or software. There are all types of makes and models I can choose from, or even build my own. Buying a MAC is like going to the supermarket and choosing vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream. Buying a PC is like going to Basken Robbins with 31 flavors and all the sprinkles and glazes to make it special! Individuality is important. The PC always far outclassed the MAC in availability of software...even though some of the flavors you might not like, it's wonderful to have almost endless choices. I love the large spacious keyboard like a large comfortable bed. In fact, the entire encompassing setup of a PC almost bestowes a sense of power, to me.

Even back when the MAC was on equal grounds vs the PC, Apple just couldn't sell me on the fact that I should buy one because its better. Based upon my own experiences in using them, I just wasn't convinced. I suppose the marketshare indicates that many share the same sentiments.
