(NASDAQ:ASND - news) today announced that ITC-DeltaCom (NASDAQ:ITCD - news) will deploy Ascend's CBX 500 Multiservice ATM switch to scale its existing B-STDX 9000 Frame Relay network and position itself for providing ATM service offerings. The West Point, GA-based interexchange carrier, which is an emerging Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), also will purchase Ascend's NavisCore and NavisXtend network management products including the NavisXtend Statistics, Report, Provisioning, Fault, and Customer Network Management servers. It will deploy both Ascend CBX 500 Multiservice ATM and B-STDX 9000 Multiservice Frame Relay switches to expand its network geographically, stay ahead of the growth of its current enhanced data customers and add more redundancy and processing power to facilitate the delivery of additional features and services. ITC-DeltaCom currently has owned and operated networks throughout ten southern states in the US.
