David,

One of my biggest worries is that Lucent and Cisco have almost ignored VOCLF and it appears are plotting a course away from VOCLF. There is still a large market but it would be a crowning achievement to add Lucent or Cisco to the ranks.

I went thru old Reuters news to find mention of Voclf/Lu and it must be in the archives now. However, Lucent and Voclf have met at least regarding standards some time ago. I doubt that Lucent with their size or Cisco for that matter needs a Voclf. It is much cheaper for them to develop their own Internet Telephony system. The people that need/want Voclf are the telecoms who don't have their own research departments , but feel the threat of price competition from this newcomer. That's why phone companies are making deals with Voclf, not Lucent or Cisco.

I also doubt that the weakness in Voclf had anything to do with Iraq. The only thing Saddam has weakened is oil prices and the U.N.
