Well, I actually have negative things to say about the SparQ this time -- Nothing serious, but they're pet peeves of mine... Why the heck didn't SyQuest include an IDE cable with their EIDE SparQ drive?! It's only 50 cents each! And, why don't they have a cream-colored bezel? The black-drive-on-cream-bracket look is so 80's! sigh now I have to wait till tomorrow to install my internal SparQ. (I can just see Michael grinning now... Something about SyQuest running low on money or something...)

Strange definition of trivial you have. Still, what I said earlier applies. You don't have any valid numbers for percentage of defective drives/cartridges. How do you know the majority of negative posts (I've seen them too) don't originate with a few or a handful of klutzes who repeatedly complain about anything and everything? Syquest has hit 100% here and that's all I claim to know for sure. Everything else is questionable. Btw, do you have a Sparq drive? Or are you just taking everything you read at face value without questioning the competence or motives of the posters? Except, of course, anyone with something positive to say. I haven't talked to a whole lot of people about Syquest products, but those I have talked to have consistently said they are well engineered and that they're very happy with them. That's been my experience as well. I tend to believe that more than anonymous posters or getting worried shorts.
