Funny you should mention Barron's, I have in my y2k file a copy of an article dated April 29, 1996, titled "Hot Date - Why some computer service firms are in love with the year 2000".

It shows 12 month charts of CHRZ, DDIM, KEA, VIAS, MIFGY and AMH (now swallowed by Fujitsu?), and in typical Barron's fashion, points out the "outrageous" valuations (and stellar performance) of some of these plays. Adjusting for splits, KEA was trading at about 9.50 just after this article, a five-bagger based on today's price. CHRZ was at 34, MIFGY 15, VIAS 19, DDIM 14, all split adjustments by www.investools.com, so no guarantees of accuracy, but they look correct to me. As a buy and hold, KEA did better, although five-baggers (and better) were do-able trading the others between then and now.
