Hi Chrissy:

An interesting poem for you, I think this is really a good analysis of the computer.

Computer Pet

This friendly monster, like a pet,
can stir my heart by working well.
My puff dragoon enjoys the net
and makes me think it's full of spells.

I ask and it attends my wish
and puts the world before my hands,
but in its wires my words are fish
swimming in codes I should understand.

Unlike the goose with golden eggs
it shows me what its belly hides--
When feasting bugs appear, it begs me to decipher its insides.

Some silly owners don't obey
their pet and just ignore its rules.
When only weird results display,
they think they've bought a brand new mule.

I'm not familiar with poems, but I am hoping that someone can help me find the poem or verse which contains a phrase similar to "If I have not love, I have nothing." This has been going through my head for the past several days and would like to find the entire passage. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greta
