Dear roly.... I have said again and again that i am an investor not a dogmatist, but at least I am honest enough to post when I change my opinion and why... I have also said again and again that amat is a great co. ... but great co.s and great investors make mistakes... buffet is considered a god by many on this thread... he bought us airways cheap sold it cheaper and laughed when six months later it had quadroupled... he also said he wuld not trade commodities... I am not buffet... by any stretch, but I am prepared to change my mind, when I see I was wrong... I will buy amat again... its is one of only seven stock I follow... but not right now. but please don't accuse me of changing by mind as I take it as a compliment.

Roly,

Re: "My problem is the inconsistencies of your position depending whether you own the stock or not."

Things change, what can I say. The conference call was very much NOT a bullish event.

In fitness centers all over Texas right now, the popular logo of the day is "Deal with it". That seems to apply here. This may sound beligerent, and I don't mean it that way at all. I guess the question is if we see that the fundamentals (earnings, bookings, etc.) of the companies and industry are deteriorating, and stock prices of AMAT, KLAC and NVLS are double (at least) from the valuations they were awarded by this schizo market during the last downturn, then the appropriate action is to hold on for dear life and pray a lot? I don't think so.

However, that said, it is very much a free country and I am asking no one to do anything with their shares. I am just slightly offended that people act as if it's a sin to change an opinion on a stock.

regards,
Teri
