"Compaq cuts Armada notebook prices

HOUSTON, March 2 (Reuters) - Compaq Computer Corp, the world's largest supplier of personal
computers, said Monday it had reduced U.S. prices for its Armada notebook line by 5.4 to 41.2 percent.

In addition, with the purchase of certain Armada models, it is adding incentives, including free memory
upgrades, discounts on its ArmadaStation desktop expansion base, and free mobile CD units, Compaq
said.

The reductions range from $200 to $700, depending on the model.

The Armada 7750MT was reduced by 5.4 percent to $3,499 from $3,699. An Armada 4131T now
costs $999, a cut of 41.2 percent from $1,699 previously.

The company said reseller prices may vary.

The product promotions. which do not include installation costs, are effective until April 30. "
