Ray: welcome to this thread! I don't think anyone could prevent a takeover by Esso or Berkley of they really wanted to make it happen; nor would we necessarily want to resist such an attempt. The important thing is to obtain fair value in such a transaction. I think the purpose is to fund land purchases and further drilling, which is probably inevitable. There are some possible re-entry programs of previously drilled wells that may occur too. In short, the funding requirements will be huge and no one wants to be "spent out" of the play by not participating. I think that's the basis for the rights offering.
