If said Empire had had our present Chief Executive instead of Nero, it would have done them little good--he still would have fiddled while Rome burned. I give Brinker credit for his prediction of new all-time highs in the dow this winter. He said that back in the dark days of October too I believe. However, his comment about the long, hard winter for goldbugs didn't extend much past tax write-off. Most goldbugs are also silverbugs anyway.
