Sorry Larry. If the posts were just to you maybe you would have a point. I think one should have a right to limit who sends private messages to oneself. I have requested a few people not to post to me privately, but I would never complain to the webmisstress if they kept on posting as it is easy enough to get rid of their post. However, replies in an open thread are not just to you. They disseminate information to all. My problem with your position is that you wish to censor, before the fact, replies to your posts. Why should you have the right to delimit the parameters of debate on SI? Why should any of us?
