Agreed. Siebel is tacitly admitting that their attempts at support automation software haven't been very successful; Scopus is saying the same about SFA. Scopus' attempt to get CWC earlier signalled that at least they realized it. Siebel also gets Scopus' not insignificant expertise in call centers, especially in the telecomm marget segment.

I would not discount the difficulty of integrating product lines. Also, expect some attrition from Scopus as some senior people will find it difficult to work in Tom's autocratic regime. Actually, some in SCOP may welcome the discipline, after Ori's lackadaisical management style.

Remains to be seen if Siebel's stock price can hold its lofty levels to make the buyout premium worthwhile.
