That was my thought. Price cuts mean a narrower margin, but it could also stimulate volume sales.

In this case, there is probably not much volume to move (being we are talking about a leaner, meaner Apple that no longer keeps huge warehouses of product - made to order and all that).

It does indicate that they are making space for the new product line. Which could stimulate more sales or stunt it depending on how pent-up the demand is for the the G3s or anticipation of G4.

I may wait and see before buying. Almost bought last week. I have no immediate need for the speed.
