Hi Jim,

Didn't Novell have plans to push for standardizing on NDS a while back, before the Microsoft/Cisco team popped up? My mind's gotten to be kind of a junk yard of Novell trivia and some of the details get fuzzy after awhile. If my memory serves me correctly Novell and Microsoft were part of a standards committee sometime around last summer and both were trying to push their own directories. Novell sort of broke away and started giving away NDS for free. Shortly after that was when Microsoft and Cisco started announcing plans for a jointly developed directory of their own.

Novell is kind of betting the farm on NDS. How does a directory built on open standards affect Novells plans to make NDS the standard? Comments/opinions anyone?

Regards,

Don
