This paragraph explains allot to me:

MSFDC also creates a threat for banks because it doesn"t have access to clean funds and may process through debits to an automated clearing house (ACH) network. A independently and preauthorize debits, and billers could enroll for bill presentment knowing funds are available, Craft says. "Notice that the word "bank" is not part of this equation," Craft says.

I guess this is why banks don't like MS.

The FAQ on MSFDC is most interesting......

They WILL have a 'Button'

"The second method will be through accessing EBPP directly through the Internet. The objective of offering the direct service is to allow consumers the opportunity to use the service if their Bank or Financial Institution is not already using the EBPP service. It will also build consumer awareness and create an opportunity for Billers to send their bills electronically to a large number of Internet users."

msfdc.com

Double Speak?

"Q: Is MSFDC trying to form a layer between Billers and consumers?

A: MSFDC doesn't disintermediate Banks or Billers and their customers: a Biller's customers remain the Biller's customers; a Bank's customers remain the Bank's customers. In fact, Banks and Billers like the idea that MSFDC is largely invisible to their consumers, much like the post office is today. EBPP helps Banks and Billers get closer to their customers."

I guess not they said 'Billers' not 'Banks'

You have to think about it, but those 2 paragraphs say alot, if they mean what they say, if you know what I mean.....

Doesn't our favorite analyst work for Bank America Robertson Stephens?

*Bank of America processes some 20 million checks a day at its facilities in San Francisco and Los Angeles - second only to the Federal Reserve Bank nationally. However, its "HomeBanking" customers are making more than 850,000 on-line payments per month, up 80 percent from just a year ago.

....could he be kissing up to his bankamerica boss by calling ckfr down?
