To my way of thinking, covered calls would be a good strategy now. Of course, it would have been a much better strategy Friday afternoon :-)

If nothing else, we ought to calm down here a bit, at least for a couple weeks, which ought to give you a chance to buy them back at a profit shortly. A trading range of 40 to 42 for the next few weeks wouldn't surprise me.

My only exposure to WinStar now is the naked puts I sold Friday. Pretty safe, conservative, strategy, kind of like selling covered calls.

PS, I've also learned not to let takeover thoughts affect the way you would normally trade. Chances anytime soon is probably negligible.
