EPRI descirbes themselves as non-competetive, LOL <<<<EPRI's program is designed to serve as a focal point for systematically collecting, assembling, organizing, sharing and discussing technical information about embedded systems that will help participants inventory, assess and mitigate potential problems.>> COMMENT: Sounds like fancy talk for "discussion group" or "sewing cricle". << EPRI is also facilitating meetings with vendors leading to coordinated field testing and the sharing of test information and lessons learned. >> Doesn't look like EPRI is doing the field testing itself, looks more like "brown bag" seminar type stuff. <<Participants in EPRI's Y2K program will share their own, vendor, and other industry information and take advantage of the lessons learned by participants. Richard I HAVE read it. Running workshops and disseminating information on the embedded controller issue will certainly raise the awareness level within the industry and only enhance the TAVA/RW Beck alliance as an experienced solution provider with a UtilityOneY2K Toolset to boot. Non-competitve means just that - EPRI poses no direct competition to TAVA. If you feel that EPRI's pushing the issue into the Utility forefront will create competition then I say bring it on because I have complete confidence in the strength of the TAVA/RW Beck alliance.
