How about this: Its Sept. 1998, and all the insiders have sold. The float is now 24 million and the company is still losing money. There are now 20 something competitors including BKS, Borders and several overseas in Europe and used booksellers as well. Sales have not grown as fast as expected due to a slowdown after the holiday season and fierce competition. The float is huge and there are no more new buyers. The momentum players are gone, the price is sinking, analysts finally lower thier expectations and mark AMZN down to a hold from a strong buy when the stock hits 20.......................thats this year folks, not 2000 and something ..............;^)
