For any non essential products, any rise in price decreases demand. If you seriously think raising the price for a VSPA tool by 230% is not making current (or potential) customers scream bloody hell you've got another think coming.

Even for essentials like oil, I'm sure the US govn't will complain much if it jumped from $15 to $30 per barrel.

If your opinion makes you money, the more power to you. Of course, judging by the stock price right now, you'll probably need to wait awhile.

I thought it was a weak attempt at boosting the dollar value of their inventory, and a such their net assets. I'm not an expert on this - so feel free to comment
