Jeff,
Comparing Dell today to IBM in 87 is at best foolish. In 87 IBM was an aging giant that had lost its way. Dell today is arguably the best managed company on the planet with laser like focus on its business plan. You are comparing a three year old thoroughbred to a twenty year old saddle horse.

Kind of like 1987 IBM longs who did not see another high for 10 years, right?

Wrong! Even in 1987, many people knew that IBM was not what it appeared to be, that it was ill. Remember the old joke (even back then) "No one ever got fired for buying IBM, but many should have been!" IBM has come a long way since then. But other than the fact that they are both international companies, I see NO resemblance to DELL at all.
