NEW YORK, March 2 (Reuters) - Hughes Electronics Corp's <GMH.N> DirecTV unit plans to announce long-term marketing deals with Bell Atlantic Corp <BEL.N> and SBC Communications Inc <SBC.N>, the Wall Street Journal said Monday in its electronic edition.

The agreements, expected to be announced Monday, will partly replace a 1996 pact with AT&T Corp <T.N> that expired in December, though the new partners won't take an equity stake in DirecTV, the newspaper said.

Financial terms of the latest deals weren't disclosed, the Journal said.

DirecTV's deal with Bell Atlantic covers single-family residences, while the SBC agreement covers apartment complexes served by its Southwestern Bell unit, the newspaper said.
