If EPRI is competing with TAVA, then it sounds as if TAVA's price is very competitive. Other factors such as their national and international presence, as well as their prestigious list of clientele makes TAVA a formidable competitor. With that said, I believe a competitive product is important. It legitimizes TAVA's offering as well as gives the client a price comparison.

The average cost of TAVA's toolset ranges between $20,000 and $40,000 if the client chooses to run their components against TAVA's growing compliance database. If not, the price stays below $10,000 and can cost as little as $2,500 for the methodology alone. A competitor's product makes TAVA's seem like a bargain, but TAVA can also provide manpower to help in the remediation process where necessary, and with an international presence.

So what's the problem?

Gee, costs more to join than TAVA charges...

<<I guess that's why people are spending at least $37,500 to join.
(up to 75,000 it looks like in some cases.)>>

LOL, better to spend the $$ join a country or golf club. EPRI chares more to join than TAVA charges for assessment on a big job. And you run the risk of a competitor finding out your business secrets, if you are pooling information on your firmware.

So, non-competetive actually means the opposite? Re-read Orwell.

I have been wondering how a small company like TAVA could get to all the customers that need their help. Organizations like EPRI will facilitate TAVA being able to contract with entire industries rather than just a lucky few companies. Competition crap! This is their vehicle to even greater revenue growth. If EPRI wants to build their own data base where do you think they would start? From scratch, and waste precious months just catching up with TAVA? You perceive the emergency, then go to the source.
