For what it's worth, Wired is as good as any of them. I never take their recommendations (or any other publications), but they are darned good at digging up facts for me to draw my own conclusions. I believe that they were concerned that their first articles (the ones that gave NETZ a lot of credibility) needed to be offset by digging deeper and reporting the other side. They saw what was happening here and did not want to be responsible for helping to promote a bad situation. They were covering the legal bases.
