May have to do with the convertibles that will convert in a few days. May also just be March jitters. Don't expect much from the drive stocks on the upside until the pre-announcements and/or earnings/conference calls are out of the way. Too much uncertainty. From recent posts on the drive threads, it looks like ASPs are still going south, though the rate appears to have slowed somewhat (just impressionistic, maybe simple hope, not based on a real survey). If Hyundai manages to dispose of Maxtor, that might give the stocks a boost (unless it is to IBM or Fujitsu, of course), or if Samsung says they are going to shutter their drive bizz.
