Hello Yaacov. I think Teradyne did the Semis in today. They said they had slower orders and I guess a lot of investors jumped to the conclusion that this has to be bad for the Semis. But analyst clarified the downturn in order at Teradyne. The company said they had been expecting orders from Intel to test their new chips but I guess Intel postponed the order for sev. months. That company is in the chip test business. I guess a lot are assuming that chips are slowing down a lot which of course is not the case. Only new chips are a little slow. CPQ has announced a 40% price cut. You can now get some PC's under 1000 from CPQ, so this may influence the stock price a bit. You know that the street is not crazy about price cuts. And then of course there was the action in the long bond. It was trying to go to 6% and you know how that frightens a lot of WAll STREETers. And then I guess it was time for some profit taking. I did not mind on the whole but did mind that Dell went down 4 points last time I checked. Sheesh. It was at 143 at one time. But the split will be here soon and the target is still 156. Minor setback I hope. I only had 3 stocks up. TBR, PIXR and EMC. I bought quite a bit of Infoseek today but it went down at the end also. I decided to buy that net company.Everything else has gone up too high for me there, like AMZN, LYCOS, YAHOO, EXCITE etc. SEEK looked still reasonable to me. Sure hope I didn't make a mistake on that one. gg. I am astonished with PIXR for whatever reason it is going up. Am especially happy since I recommended it last year to my daughter after which it went down immediately. gg. Sonny

Yaacov, OTOTOT, A few of us are happy to see El Nino. Hubby was complaining he couldn't go golfing this weekend. I had to remind him that its rare in the winter, since we don't live in California. <gg> Re: you son - Take him with you, he might have fun. I had to chuckle yesterday. Hubby Got a new driver and had to take it to show his Dad. Well Dad was trying it out, but was moving his hands wrong, so Hubby corrected him as he had been corrected the week before. Dad gave him that look (you know the one, when your son uses your words against you). I told hubby 'Isn't it nice to be an adult, now you can get away with that!!!' If your son doesn't like golf yet, give him a few years and you two will be out on the course together. Just be careful of the advise you give, it may come back at you later. <GGGG> Have a great evening!!
