Greenleaf Technologies and Compaq Computer Reach Letter of Understanding to Market Software Product AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 1998--Greenleaf Technologies Corp. (OTC BB:GLFC)("GLFC") announced today that it received a Letter of Understanding from Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ)("Compaq") whereby Compaq has committed to work with GLFC to offer and resell a unique software content bundling package to its Compaq customers. This non-exclusive "commitment letter" to work with GLFC utilizes the assistance as required by PSW Technologies also in Austin, Time Warner, Softbank and any other Compaq-approved DVD-ROM replicators or kitting firms, Interplay and other potential software vendors in the design, creation, development, testing, mastering, manufacturing and delivery of unique DVD-ROM media to offer and resell software content value to Compaq customers. According to the agreement, the companies expect the project to be self funding and generate substantial revenues for the Compaq Consumer Group and GLFC. Christopher Webster, Vice President of Marketing for GLFC, stated, "It is our belief that our working relationship with Compaq could provide an excellent opportunity to offer consumers more unique product options, additional software content value and augment the Compaq Consumer Group's commitment to customer satisfaction. The software packages we intend to include with new Compaq computers will add value for the consumer and provide Compaq with another competitive edge in new computer sales as well as generating revenues for all the companies concerned." Compaq Computer Corp. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of computing products, including desktop computers, portable computers, work stations, communications products, and tower PC servers and peripheral products that store and manage data in network environments. Compaq markets its products primarily to business, home, government, and educational consumers, reporting $24.6 billion in sales in 1997. GLFC owns three high tech products to be marketed through various strategic relationships: CommShield(TM), DigiTrek(TM) and MusiKey(TM). CommShield(TM) provides access protection for telecommunication networks. DigiTrek(TM) encrypts and decrypts information on CDs and DVDs. MusiKey(TM) allows major music distributors to control and secure the electronic distribution of new song titles. GLFC announced on January 12, 1998 that the Company entered into an agreement with MultiCom Services LLC to provide a basic turnkey platform for credit card billing, capturing customer order information and verifying credit card purchases on-line.
