It may not be a bargain, but remember that it could be a bargain because it gives seibel the opportunity for lots of 1x charges and room to bury lots of stuff.

It will be interesting to watch the integration of the distribution channels.

I think that if given enough time anyone can come up with reasons to support their own position. In many ways that is human nature working at its finest. However, I am certain that all these points were considered prior to this merger being announced. And I am also certain that any issues which may surface have been discussed and plans laid in place to make this merger successful. With respect to the company being distracted...that is a temporary problem and will resolve itself. It should be more of a distraction for the scop employees than the sebl employees since scop is the acquiree. The key is to make the personnel changes as quickly as possible and get on with business. As long as the salesforce isn't distracted this should not impact business. I am sure Tom Siebel would consider this his number one priority and have plans in place to assure this does not happen. I can't imagine why the scop sales reps would hit the street since it seems as if everyone these days wants to work for sebl. This is a great way to get to do it and avoid the interview process. And my personal opinion is that if a scop sales rep has a problem with this they are probably not someone sebl would want in the first place. It seems to me that sebl is making a long term decision here and willing to accept the few small bumps that may occur in the very short term. No acquisition is ever totally easy. It's up to the people at the top to make it work. My opinion is that this will be a lot better than anyone today can imagine.
