Actually I wouldn't chase Riley anywhere. I bought a little Netz to play the momentum and saw it go up and down to where I got it. I would guess that Dempsey Mork did contact the SEC but so did shareholders. If the statements DM made to the SEC were true (and some were true I beleive, but I am also sure he painted them in as negative a light as possible), then the SEC acted on factual information. I was primarily responding to Phoon's outrage when in fact many shareholders likely did write/email the SEC which I am sure is at least a contributor to the total amount of attention they have paid to this stock.
