Lot's of questions in your post. I'll settle for this one.

The question remains--in the face of uncertain financials: Why did Wired go negative today?

I'm going with David here assuming they (Wired) tried to cover their legal a$$e$. Anything else will make a lot bigger headlines than the NETZ saga. :)
