Linda, sure:

Lesions in the Anterior Temporal Lobe, spinal cord disorders, diabetic neuropathy and tabes dorsalis, damage to parasympathetic nerves, diffuse injury to the spinal cord, mild vascular insufficiency or vascular disease. All of these and more can cause "intermittent" impotence. The erectile response is quite complicated. It involves the endocrine system, voluntary/involuntary nervous system, vascular system, and the psyche. A partial injury or lesion in any one of these systems can cause "intermittent" impotence.
