Andy and threadster of all shapes and kinds. A positive convergence is about to occur, lets us not lose sight of the below listed items that will increase the desire for faster computers and increase the transition to Pentuim IIs. Also, some people have been holding back and waiting before they buy a computer due to the below listed reasons.

1) Intels new 440BX core logic set (this will increase the bus speed to 100MHz and blaze the path to Rambus RDRAM) is due out in April, this should keep or increase the ASP (average selling price) for DELL.

2)Windows 98. I little tid-bit for the traders out there--->you will be able to have more the one monitors connected to your system.

3)DVD will start to become mainstream. From what I have read you will have to have more then a 266 Pent. II to use the upcoming DVD software titles. Will it be "I have to have it" just like CDROM all over again?

4)The 56K modem standard has been hash out v.90.

5)ASDL will make further inroads to the market giving us all that much promise holy grail of faster internet access.

6)last but not least the ever increasing CPU speed coming out of Intel

Oh I forgot one more, Y2K will be looming ever larger as the year goes on.

Greg

I would rather see the healthy correction(after the BIG run) occurred before the split. When the bull resume after the split, it will act like MSFT after split in February. We may see $3.50 ($7 pre-split) jump in one day.
