Monday March 2, 4:36 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT - WinStar cut on price biz.yahoo.com "-- also said investors should monitor the ongoing auctions for licenses for the ''local multipoint distribution service'' (LMDS) band of spectrum. Said bidding on the 1150 megahertz licenses has averaged less than $1.50 per POP (population) and the top 50 markets have current bids of less than $2 per POP. Said at WinStar's current share price, Legg Mason estimates the market is valuing its top 50 market licenses at about $16 per POP.
