TSMC undecided on TI-Acer stake purchase/strategic alliance TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd said it has not made any decision on purchasing Texas Instruments-Acer Inc or forming a strategic alliance. "We had talks on the subject matter (with parties concerned), but no conclusion has been drawn," a TSMC spokesman said. ============ Acer may serve as an indication of sentiment towards the electronics sector due to reports that it may buy TI-Acer shares from TI, Lin said. In addition, local dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chip makers may benefit from possible U.S. decision on imposing anti-dumption tariffs on South Korean DRAMs, he noted.
