SyQuest Valuations have historically been overvalued and it is because people expect too much ramp too quick. The number of units that Coley gives 80-100k for the Sparq is conservatively justified but under my estimates. My sources say 110-115k for the Qtr.
I think that your tie ratio is unrealistic. Tie ratios of 10, 8, or 5 are outrageously optimistic. I would be pleased with a tie ratio of 1.7-1.9. The media is the key. If they get the media out in volume, the margins get positive. We need to know component suppliers and ramp of the penang plant. Would someone get some information on this. I want to know.
Also, Channel checks at Fry's shows good sales, little returns, but not enough media.
