Frank and others: It is quite possible that individuals like viper are simply acting on behalf of the big short position-folks, and that he may or may not be personally short at all. The behavior of the stock suggests to me that a fair number of people may be covering their shorts. Nevertheless, Ward's discussion of his short selling philosophy including using stop-losses was very much a propos. I haven't shorted anything in quite a while, but if I did, I sure would use stops. Anyone shorting KRY and not using stops is nuts, as no matter what you believe about the value of a company, or the outcome of a dispute, it is a cardinal sin to disregard market action. In the end, the court of public opinion is in the marketplace, and you can get destroyed if you don't pay attention to it. Regards Dan
