Why not let the other newsletters and trade magazines SCOOP Wired? Don't worry about Wired's article, if you can release financials and news that justifys your previous positive news releases. Then grant interviews to influencial magazines that would love for Wired Magazine to look foolish when they published three contraversial articles that did not tell the real story about the other big company in web advertising.

Many 'statements' to ponder...But what about the company's facts? Time to show them cards boys!

So far, the competitors and axe grinders have made such a stink without reply, that perception is becoming reality.

C'mon. Show us that marketing savvy.

Great Post.....

Cant do a damn thing about the past....but if they arent careful it will dog them for a looong time....

IF NETZ can weather this storm...I think you may see a flurry of press releases....

Two questions....

1) When did Price Waterhouses' involvement become public knowledge?
Matty???

2) If the deals with Bellcore, AltaVista etc are B.S...does anyone else think that these companies would have come forward and publicly refuted NETZ's claims????

A bit of bad background--probably some true, some not--indelicately divvied out can go a long way when the talk becomes amongst reporters, especially if someone is doubly-connected to someone that's critical of past performance. Also noteworthy is the fact that Doubleclick's emergence invariably leads to people picking a favorite team. How much do street.com and Wired's affiliated interests have invested in Doubleclick?

I don't immediately buy the story that Wired was bought to do a hatchet job on NETZ. I side with David in that they probably got an oops-feeling when trying to corroborate their find of the century. If NETZ is a-ok and going ballistic as a company I'd say that our 'good friend' Jimmy of IR fame needs to be let go. A big part of Investor Relations is the Relations part. An IR that doesn't go out of his way to not alienate people is not IR material to me. I can buy any person crumbling under barrage of a p-o:ed individual investor but he should never ever loose his cool when talking to the press.
