pooch, thanks for clarifying that hyperlink: I thought you had sent me over to sign up on MSN as your recommended ISP for me, a sure sign that we'd have to start rationing your doggy-nip.
Anyway that story with the guy and his billion dollar Rotomola phone was a hoot. Except that maybe it really isn't cool for CDMA roll-out. We all know the first gen Q phone wasn't up to snuff. We all know that the CDMA cell networks aren't anywhere near complete and that coverage is spotty. Gregg pointed out the other day that Airtouch still hasn't launched in LA cause they know service wouldn't be up to snuff till they get more base stations and towers in place (which is no easy task due to community opposition, not in my back yard). I know that these are "just" growing pains, but at some point I worry that consumers will get honked off and 'just say no' to all the fancy new technology. At the end of the day, folks want something that works. Me a little worried.
On another topic, thanks for filling rhetOric in on CDMA compatibility with TCP/IP. I was gonna say the same thing but you posted first so no need to repeat, right? heh, heh, heh
