<Nobody is talking Java. NT is the platform of choice, and most everybody is porting to NT.>

David,

Am I missing something here? I know Java is currently rather slow, but Java and NT servers are two separate issues. In other words, I don't disagree that users are moving towards NT servers, but how is that a negative for Java? If a user is going to move to "some" server (or not move from their current server), whether Java apps are on the server is more or less up to the user, isn't it?

Regards,
Dave

*** OFF TOPIC ***

David,
<...the business of Enterprise telephony>

I just got some info from Nortel describing their support for TAPI client-server computer-telephony integration (CTI) applications. For more info, call 800-4-NORTEL and ask for document 50049.17/01-98.

I'm sorry if my tone in the last note was a little sarcastic, I am frustrated with the performance of Java apps, too. Once the speed picks up, which it will, I think it will become the application tool of choice. The 12/8/97 Information Week magazine has some great
articles on this.
