Earnings date--- David Witwer notes, "For people like me that like to read too much into everything, the late earnings announcement may signal that the results are OK. If you look at the dates of the last six announcements...." I think we're getting desperate for a price move, or some excitement, and looking too hard for clues. I think the announcement last quarter was early because (1) of closeness to the Xmas holiday, and (2) the numbers were available, COMS having already preannounced that the quarter was slow. This quarter, no preannouncement is needed (if things are slow, it's left over from the channel inventory issue, and doesn't need preannouncing), and there's no inconvenient holiday. I wonder how 3Com selected their particularly inconvenient fiscal year, which has three quarters out of four ending on or nearly on a major US holiday...? It does keep our earnings worries away from the competition's. Dick
