Tom, Paul, others - Frank Veneroso has published a newsletter that suggests that the Asian currency crisis is triggering substantial "dishoarding" of gold, particularly in Korea, on the order of approximately 100 tons per month, and that this dishoarding is one of the principle causes of depressed gold price, by as much as $60/oz. He also suggests that this dishoarding should be pretty much over, so that the price of gold may very well rise by $50/oz by mid 1998, particularly if EUR limits central bank selling as has been hinted in several posts. I would be interested in comments about this hypothesis and whether you find it credible. Thanks.

Best wishes,
Richard A. Green
