GTE and FastComm Renew Multi-Year Purchase Agreement

======================================================================
STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1998--

Agreement Represents Three-Year Contract Renewal for Purchase
of FastComm Voice and Data capable FRADs

FastComm Communications Corp. today announced the renewal of the
multi-year Purchase Agreement with GTE Network Services, a unit of
GTE Corp.
The renewal extends the Purchase Agreement between the companies
for three years, effective March 1, 1998. Recently, the companies
announced GTE's standardization on FastComm's Voice and Data capable
Frame Relay Access Devices (FRADs). The Purchase Agreement is the
vehicle for GTE and all worldwide affiliated GTE entities to purchase
FastComm products.
Prior to this renewal, GTE has purchased in excess of $3.5
million of FastComm products and upgrades, including thousands of
FastComm's EtherFRAD products for the Oregon State Lottery network.
FastComm products were selected by GTE for that competitive bid based
on exceptional price/performance, X.25-to-Frame Relay capability, IPX
routing, and remote SNMP management features.
"I am very pleased to announce this contract renewal with GTE,"
stated Peter Madsen, FastComm President. "GTE has been one of our
largest customers for some time now, and we expect them to continue
to be a major customer moving forward. We are very proud to have
been selected by GTE, a growing telecommunications carrier and
Internet Service Provider."

dialnetworking and dialbackup, the Data, Voice and Video capable
FastComm products are the best value available to customers today.
