Cell Phone FAQ for newbies?

I would like to learn about the cell-phone business and the major players, especially how QCOM's CDMA stacks up against the alternatives. I know the rough basics, but would love to read something that could give me deeper insight without being over-my-head technical.

Anyone know any good links or books to read on the subject?

Little late to the party. Oh I forgot, they just invented REAL ATM!!! Everything up till now was simply not workable!!

Actually that reaffirms the arguement I had a few years back, the big switch makers are going to cause the traditional networkers problems in the future.
