Craig, This rumor <Sun has been writing software for the last eight months based on ANCR's new 34 and soon to be released 64 arbitrated loop switches.> seems match the action of new hiring ( mostly software engineers). do you watch todays trade action? It seems to me MM used 100 block to move the market.

I have often wondered who the major customers of HUCOM. My guess is that it is either one or both of these companies. Fujitsu and NTT DoCoMo

Craig, I wouldn't rule out more nodes on the Sun/NTT installation. The way I see it the two node Enterprise 6000 cluster is the enterprise server. As you know the Enterprise 6000 uses the Gigaplane interconnect for the multiple processors and FC or SCSI for the storage I/O. I would not rule out this server being attached to a switched FC SAN with storage arrays and other attached nodes. In fact I would kind of expect it given the number of workstations and size of the database. The scaling problem they describe seems to be software based. The interesting part for me is the Ancor/NTT connection - which I hope is still operative. If you scan the storage success stories at Sun you will see some enterprise storage with incoming ATM to a FDDI LAN and eventually to a data warehouse. This is a model I have also seen on the MCI site. It would be great to see incoming ATM to an FC LAN/SAN courtesy of an ATM/FC interface. George D.
