Gary, i don't know why you insist on stating items which are untrue, but since you insist

Your statement is incorrect. Many standards if not most, were created when the "property" of an individual or company was recognized as having value. This is easily proven in almost every industry from seed genetics to automobile wiper blades to computer operating systems etc.

Companies back other companies and are willing to pay royalties to other companies because they have something of value which is recognized by the parties involved.
