David, ...Re:<< then back to 140 plus by Friday or Monday>>

It doesn't look good to get back up to 140 by Friday if the bonds tank due to the Friday Jan. jobs report. According to the following article, this could again be a whopper.
economeister.com
Worse still, wage pressures are building. The bond market has recently been reminded by Chairman Greenspan (last week) that one of his main concerns is the tight labor market and resulting wage growth. Having already given up almost 4 points since Feb. 13, I don't know how much more selling can occur, but if the number is strong, I expect the next stop for the June bond is around 117^16 area. It's down to 118^27 now with the cash bond at 6.054%.

Just sharing these observations because Dell can't hold up or go up if the whole market tanks.
Regards,

Lee

Re: Mar 140 Calls

The advice offered Mr Canalano (#31750) would have offered nice protection (if not, profit) today. Similar plays still exist.

IF you are correct and DELL hits 140+ by Friday/Monday, 4-6 days will have passed and the stock will approach yesterday's open. Short of a volatility miracle, DLQCH will be worth considerably less than yesterday -- even if DELL retests 144. If convinced of a rise above DELL 145, you're better off rotating into APR 150's for +$1. (Otherwise, you should liquidate or offset the position.)

Free advice with best intentions.

Mark/David, Are you still holding Mar 140/70 calls?

If so, and you didn't act on earlier advice...
You might try selling them @^14 and
buying May 70 (DLQEN) @4^10

...that is, if you believe that DELL will rise above 70.
(The May 70C contracts are relatively cheap.)
