Your thought makes sense viewed one way.

But look at it this way.

They just got the money through a series of road shows and a secondary offering in September.

They had no debt, but not enough cash on hand to do the things they needed. They sold many investors on their company and on buying the secondary.

Now they use the money to buy back their shares instead of the purposes they stated in the Fall road show? Not cool, IMO.

Buyback is a terrible idea. If the management cannot use the cash for a better purpose than buying back the stock, then they are not working for the long term interests of the shareholders. I want the company to invest in what they know how to do, not pull some eps ploy by buying and selling the stock as they feel it is too high or too low. It is up to the shareholders to decide if the stock is too expensive or too cheap. That's our job. Their job is to run the company as best they know how. Of course a little polish on the PR side wouldn't hurt. ;-)
